NBA Roundup: Model Goes 8-6 Across a Loaded 14-Game Slate

The NBA served up a full 14-game slate on November 4th with plenty of drama from tip-off to final buzzer. The New York Knicks were the day’s most dominant team, rolling past the Chicago Bulls 135-105 in a blowout. The Boston Celtics held off Milwaukee 109-102, the Oklahoma City Thunder topped Cleveland 124-116, and the New Orleans Pelicans edged Utah 120-113. The Los Angeles Lakers picked up an impressive road win in Sacramento, 116-103, while Portland stunned Phoenix 132-119 and Indiana slipped past Memphis 107-103. Philadelphia topped Detroit 112-106, and Miami sneaked past the LA Clippers 117-116 in a one-point thriller. The San Antonio Spurs held on to beat Dallas 112-111 in another nail-biter.

The XO Sports model went 8-6 on the day, correctly calling eight winners including both high-confidence top picks in New York and Boston. The model also nailed San Antonio, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Portland, and Los Angeles. The misses came in Detroit, Brooklyn, Memphis, Houston, Denver, and the LA Clippers game, where a razor-thin margin flipped the result. Memphis was the toughest miss among top picks, as the model had the Grizzlies winning comfortably at home but Indiana had other plans.
