Man v Machine (NBA) Competition Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the Man v Machine competition run by XO Sports. By entering, you agree to them.

1. The promoter

The competition is run by XO Sports Pty Ltd (ACN 677 324 542) of Level 9, 168 Exhibition Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 3000 (XO Sports, we, us).

2. Competition period

The competition opens on Wednesday 14 October 2026 and closes at the scheduled tip-off of the Contest Game on Thursday 22 October 2026, Philadelphia time (the Competition Period).

The Contest Game is the Philadelphia v Cleveland NBA game played in Philadelphia on Thursday 22 October 2026, as shown in the XO Sports app. Entries close at its scheduled tip-off time.

3. Who can enter

The competition is open to residents of the United States and Australia who, at the time of entry:

  • are 21 or older if they live in the United States, or 18 or older if they live in Australia

  • have a registered XO Sports account

You can’t enter if you are an employee, contractor or director of XO Sports, Beasley Media Group (97.5 The Fanatic) or any agency involved in the competition, or an immediate family or household member of one.

The competition is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

4. How to enter

No purchase necessary. You don’t need to buy anything or hold a paid XO Sports subscription to enter or win. A paid subscription does not improve your chance of winning.

To enter:

  1. Download the XO Sports app from the App Store or Google Play, or open it if you already have it.

  2. Register for a free XO Sports account, or log in.

  3. Open the Man v Machine entry form on the app’s home screen.

  4. Predict the final score of the Contest Game and submit your entry before tip-off.

You can enter once per Contest Game. Entries made with automated tools, multiple accounts or false details are invalid. Your mobile provider’s standard data charges may apply.

5. How the winner is decided

This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in deciding the winner.

For each Contest Game, our AI model (the Machine) also makes a score prediction, which we publish in the app before tip-off.

After the game, the winning entry is the valid entry whose predicted score is closest to the official final score. We measure closeness by adding together the difference for each team’s score. If two or more entries are equally close, they are joint winners and share the prize as set out in section 6.

The prize goes to the closest valid entry, whether or not it beats the Machine’s prediction.

We use the official final score published by the league, including overtime. If a Contest Game is postponed or cancelled, we may nominate a replacement game.

Our decision on the winner is final.

6. The prize

The winner chooses one of:

  • Game tickets: 2 tickets to a professional basketball home game in Philadelphia, chosen by the winner and subject to availability. Any winner can choose the tickets, but they must be able to get to Philadelphia for the game. Approximate retail value: US$500 to US$1,000.

  • Cash: US$2,000. Winners who live in Australia receive the Australian dollar equivalent at the exchange rate on the payment date.

The total prize value for each Contest Game is up to US$2,000. If there are joint winners, the tickets option doesn’t apply. The prize is the US$2,000 cash only, split equally between the joint winners.

Tickets do not include travel, accommodation, visas, food or spending money. The winner is responsible for getting to Philadelphia and for any travel documents they need. A winner who can’t attend the game offered can choose the cash instead.

Prizes can’t be transferred or exchanged except as set out here. If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control, we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

7. Winner notification and claiming the prize

We will contact the winner by email and in-app message within 24 hours after the Contest Game. The winner has 7 days to reply, confirm their prize choice and give us any details we need, including proof of age, identity and residence.

If the winner doesn’t reply in time, isn’t eligible or hasn’t met these terms, they forfeit the prize, and we will award it to the next closest valid entry.

US winners may need to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release. Cash prizes are paid by bank transfer within 30 days of a valid claim.

We will publish the winner’s first name, last initial and state or country at xosports.ai for 28 days.

8. Tax

Winners are responsible for any tax on their prize in the country where they live. US winners must give us a completed IRS Form W-9 before we pay a prize, and we will issue an IRS Form 1099 where the law requires.

9. Privacy and publicity

We collect your personal information to run the competition, contact winners and, if you agree, send you marketing. Entering does not depend on agreeing to receive marketing. Your information may be stored and processed in Australia, the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We handle it under our privacy policy at xosports.ai.

With the winner’s consent, we may use their first name, state or country and photo in competition publicity, including on 97.5 The Fanatic and our social channels, without further payment.

10. General conditions

  • We may disqualify any entry or entrant we reasonably believe has broken these terms, interfered with the entry process or acted fraudulently.

  • We are not responsible for entries that are late, lost or incomplete because of technical faults, network problems or anything else outside our control.

  • If something outside our control affects the competition, such as fraud, technical failure or a cancelled game, we may change, pause or end it, subject to any approval the law requires.

  • To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss, damage or injury from entering the competition or using a prize. This does not limit any rights you have that can’t be excluded by law, including under the Australian Consumer Law or the consumer laws where you live.

  • If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.

11. Disclaimers

XO Sports is not a gambling operator, bookmaker or exchange. We do not facilitate transactions or accept bets. The competition is free to enter and is not a wager.

The competition is not sponsored, endorsed or run by any sports league, team or venue. Tickets are supplied through our media partner, 97.5 The Fanatic.

Apple and Google are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, this competition. App Store is a trademark of Apple Inc. Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. This does not remove any protection you have under the consumer laws of the place where you live.
