Lakers, Pacers, Magic Pull Upsets on Busy NBA Sunday

The NBA delivered a loaded seven-game Sunday on October 25th, with a handful of notable upsets shaking up the day. The Los Angeles Lakers rolled into Utah and handled the Jazz 132-123, while the Indiana Pacers dominated the Brooklyn Nets by a whopping 27 points, 136-109, in one of the day’s biggest blowouts. The Orlando Magic pulled off a road upset at Madison Square Garden, topping the New York Knicks 111-102. On the winning side of things, Oklahoma City held off the LA Clippers 108-101, Minnesota cruised past Toronto 117-94, Detroit knocked off Philadelphia 106-93, and Memphis slipped past Sacramento 123-112.

The XO Sports model finished 5-2 on the day, correctly calling the Lakers, Thunder, Timberwolves, Pistons, and Grizzlies. The two misses came in tougher spots: the model favored Brooklyn at home against Indiana and leaned on the Knicks in a high-confidence top pick at 80.4% probability, but Orlando had other ideas. Oklahoma City also carried top-pick status and delivered, covering the model’s call with a solid seven-point win over the Clippers. Overall, a strong showing with room to build on as the early season rolls on.
